A new mid-width all-mountain ski, the Atomic Maverick 86 C, is built for balanced and intuitive skiing. OMatic Construction combines only the essential materials – wood, fiberglass, and carbon – for lighter weight and smooth, easy handling. Flow Profile blends the perfect amount of rocker and camber for optimal effective edge contact on hardpack snow and ice. Whether you’re skiing the steep chutes of Crested Butte or the powdery glades of St. Anton, the Maverick 86 C is the ski for confident skiing in any condition.
Precisely tuned edges are an important part of ski performance. A blunt edge cannot penetrate the snow surface and slides through a turn. An edge that is too sharp digs into the snow surface and makes for an unstable ride. Our alpine skis are groomed with a side edge angle of 87° for more intuitive handling, easier skiing and better grip on hard snow and ice.
All skis from our factory are delivered with steel edges that have been carefully machined with a precise 1.0° base edge bevel that lightly lifts the ski edge off the snow for easy turning while providing great edge grip and aggressive tracking throughout the turn.
