The Atomic Backland 107 is a powder-charging backcountry ski – now featuring HRZN Tech in the tip for even more floatation.
The Atomic Warden MNC 13 binding combines the strength and precision you need on piste with the smooth progressive power transfer you need in deeper snow. MNC stands for Multi Norm Certified, which means it works with all types of soles – DIN, Touring and Walk To Ride (WTR) – and fits every normed boot in the market. So it’s ideal if you want one binding for your all-mountain and backcountry skiing. It has an Oversized Platform and U-Power Toe – a super-wide platform that provides maximum lateral power transmission plus precise steering, natural flex and strong dampening. It’s also 30% wider than comparable bindings so works well with progressive wider skis like Vantage. Finally it has self-retracting Freeski Brakes that eliminate hang-ups on switch landings.
An ultra-lightweight carbon insert that runs the length of the ski like a stabilizing backbone. This provides exceptional agility and edge hold with no extra weight.
Incredibly lightweight Poplar and Caruba wood keeps Backland’s weight down but without compromising downhill performance.
Runs across the full length of the ski for precise steering, ideal for high-performing race and piste skis.
The most pronounced rocker we have in tip and tail, combined with camber underfoot. For awesome floatation and maneuverability in deep powder, crud and anything in between.
HRZN Tech adds 10% more surface area at your ski tips. For awesome floatation in powder plus less tip deflection and better tracking through chop.
The Atomic Backland 107 is a backcountry ski that delivers the very best powder performance. It’s the widest model in our Backland backcountry range – with a 107mm waist, and still super light thanks to the Carbon Backbone which runs over the entire length of the ski. The Powder Rocker (big in the tip and smaller in the tail) and revolutionary HRZN Tech in the tip for more surface area give it even better floatation, so it’s built for charging in deep snow and chop with total confidence. That said, with a Full Sidewall it’s also smooth and stable on harder terrain. Mount some new Shift bindings and Multifit Rocker Skins on this low-weight powder performer and it works great as a Freeride Touring ski.
